Brick'R'Knowledge LED IR.
This building block has two LEDs, a red LED for control and an infrared (IR) LED, which cannot directly be seen by us, approx. 900nm. However, it can be seen in most cases with a camera. Both LEDs are protected by a series resistor against overload. They only light up if the diode is connected in flow direction, i.e. current flows from anode to cathode. The LEDs need minimum voltage in flow direction, to light up, for both approx. 2V.
